Chiclana, Cádiz, Spain.
Your note
Chiclana de la Frontera is a modern urban centre a few kilometres south of San Fernando. It's about five kilometres inland from the coast. The old part of the -su-interior-pueblos-blancos,town is typically Spanish, with narrow winding streets, white-washed walls and small courtyards.
At the moment there are around 50,000 people living in Chiclana. Tradition is very important to the Chiclaneros. Bullfighting, flamenco and wine production are still a part of everyday life.
Go west of Chiclana towards the coast and you'll come to the small village of Sancti Petri. At low tide you can cross over onto the the Island of the same name. It's deserted, apart from an ancient Roman temple dedicated to the mighty Hercules.
