The cathedral is the most important and well-visited monument in the historic centre of Cadiz. With its imposing size and mixed Baroque and Neoclassical style, the cathedral is a breathtaking view from both the front of the cathedral which leads onto the Plaza de la Catedral and from the seafront promenade on the other side. The monument holds the remains of the famous composer, Manuel de Falla.
The Santa Cruz Church, with its Gothic style, is located close to the modern cathedral, in the Populo district.
The Roman Theatre is situated just behind the Santa Cruz Church.
The Las Mujeres hospital is a classic example of baroque architecture with wide patios and an imperial staircase.
The San Felipe Neri Oratory offers more andaluz baroque architecture, dated from the 18th century. Inside you will be able to admire a painting by Murillo from 1680, and the oratory was also the locatio of the first signing of the Spanish Constitution in 1812.
The Tavira Tower, the official port watchtower for Cadiz in the past, offers some of the best views of the city. Currently there are exhibitions on show, including a darkroom offering a picture show of Cadizs past.
Plaza de Mina is repleat with beautiful old-colonial style buildings, which is ceratinly well worth visiting.
The Cadiz Museum offers exhibitions regarding archeological artefacts, and holds some important phoenician graves.
The Santa Cueva Oratory, of impressive Neoclassical design, holds three works by Francisco de Goya that date from 1795.
La Viña is a traidtional spanish neighbourhood, and is the main headquarters for the famous Cadiz Carnival. The area is characterised by its beauty, vibrancy and its fine selection of tapas bars and restaurants.
The La Caleta beach is without a doubt the most emblematic beach in Cadiz. Next to the Viña district, the beach is a favourite amongst locals.
Genoves Park is the most famous across the city. Situated in the Alameda Apodaca, in the historic centre of Cadiz.
