Vejer is located ten kilometers inland, on the Costa de la Luz. It's located high above the steep gorge of the Barbate river.

From here, there are spectacular views to the surrounding countryside. It's a perfect example of what many Andalucian -su-interior-pueblos-blancos,towns were like during the five centuries of Islamic occupation.

The architecture is a blend of Visigoth, Moorish, and, Mudejar styles. It was declared a national monument in 1978.

Vejer's beach (El Palmar) has fine white sands, transparent waters and is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. It's also one of the best wave surfing spots on the coast.

Vejer is an open and friendly village with a vibrant atmosphere and lots of things to do and see.
