It was a natural harbor where ships sailed and anchored by the Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans. This is probably the 2nd most popular beach in Cádiz. Santa María del Mar beach is a continuation of the Victoria beach and begins between the old and the new parts of Cadiz. It is the next beach after La Caleta.
