How to get there

To get to Cadiz you can use virtually all means of transport available: car, ferry, train, bus and plane.

The city of Cadiz can almost be considered an island as it is completely surrounded by the sea with the exception of the road out to San Fernando. To get to Cadiz you can so do by car, bus, train, ferry and most importantly by plane, with flight connections to the nearby town of Jerez.

How to get there by plane
The nearest international airport to Cadiz is in Jerez de la Frontera, and is called 'La Parra'. It is situated around 35km from Cadiz and is easily accesible by motorway, only a 25 to 30 minute drive away. The next closest airport is situated in Seville, and is called 'San Pablo'. This airport is situated about 120 km from Cadiz, taking between an hour and an hour and a quarter to get there, depending on traffic.

By Train
RENFE offers regular train connections between Cadiz and all major cities across Spain such as Seville, Madrid and Barcelona. Make sure you check at the station itself because the schedules tend to change regularly.

By Car
Coming from Algeciras / Malaga, you will need to take the N340 and you must pass Tarifa, Barbate, Vejer, Conil, Chiclana before finally arriving Cadiz. Coming from Seville, you will need to take the A-4 motorway which will get you to Cadiz in just over an hour.

By Ferry
There are ferry connections from the Canary Islands and there are also connections between Cadiz and Genoa in Italy. For those who prefer shorter trips there are catamaran services between Cadiz and El Puerto de Santa María and Rota with numerous departures every day depending on weather / wind conditions.
